AD-COHST ND FINALISTS STUDENTS HOLD POST-SIWES PRESENTATIONS

Finalist students of National Diploma Programs in Community Health, Dental Therapy and Environmental Health Technology at Aminu Dabo College of Health Sciences and Technology (AD-COHST) have conducted a SIWES defense presentation in preparation for the conduct of the National Examination.

The programme was aimed at assessing the level of preparedness, experience and technical skills acquired by the returning students after their practical attachments in Hospitals and Clinics across the State.

The students recently successfully completed their compulsory three-month Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) as partial fulfillment of requirement for the award of National Diploma Certificates.

Mal Mustapha Umar, the Acting Coordinator of ND Programs in the College, said the students during the exercise spoke extensively on their experiences in various health challenges and contributions to healthcare services delivery at primary and secondary levels in the state.

Acting Provost of the College Sant. Hamza Garba, who also supervised the proceedings, implored the participating students to put into practice what they learnt in both classrooms and places of practical attachments

He further urged them to ensure strict compliance with the sanitary and safety health regulations of the College, pointing out that, as students of respective health programs, they must not only observe environmental sanitation but should ensure general cleanliness of classrooms and surroundings as well as personal hygiene at all times.

Pharm Mubarak Hussani, who oversees Quality Assurance Affairs and Mal Nurudeen Aliyu Acting HOD EHS, commended the students for the excellent presentation, urging them to continue to be good ambassadors of the College wherever they found themselves.

Earlier, in their separate presentations, the students (CH, EHT, and DENTAL THERAPY) admitted that the scheme had afforded them the opportunities to widen their knowledge of practical aspects of the respective fields of studies.

They expressed appreciation to the Proprietor of the College Arc Aminu Dabo, management staff and heads of various sections of the College for the support, guidance and encouragement towards making the projects a huge success.
